i was packing my room, when i saw this paper bag. the one i took from the education/career fair that my sch had organised for the year2 students. since i was suoer free today, i decided to take a look at the contents again.. so to get my aim right, be focused for the up-coming prelims and of course, the last lap : a levels.
arh... i threw away from leaflets on dsta, firefl blah blah. what is the use looking and keeping them? i will never get a scholarship because i m just plain stupid. i saw this which says requirements : attempted 4 a level subjects and 2 's' papers.. hahahaha i chuck it aside. no use to me. sighsigh. why cant i just be smarter, study-wiser, and score better??
anyway i realised i have taken lots of stuffs regarding health sciences... i'm really into them. i read through them and i just ''re-new'' my aim again. yes.. my interest is in occupational therapy and physiotherapy.. meaning : helping people [young to old] [disabled or after sports injury or stroke blah blah] who have difficulties gaining full mobility of their limbs and movements.
yep. i really like this line. healthcare has always interest me.. however, when i took a closer look at those leaflets.. i found out.. the diploma in health sciences [occupational therapy, physiotherapy, radiation....] are only available in NYP nanyang poly.. arrhhh!!!! however the diploma from NYP is sort of globally recognised leh!! so, it is a good diploma.
and actually.. these diplomas for only for a levels holders..(but for nursing it is open for o levels holders) ... so does it mean that, after a levels, if i really wanna pursue, i have to go to NYP... and not a local university (ok.. if i can get it.. sigh) . i will get a diploma and not a bachelor's degree..
okok.. actually i am really considering.. because i dun wanna end up doing a course in uni that doesnt interest me and i wont be good at that field. what can a phy-chem-math student do? engineering?? strong in physics? hahahaha.. joke man. i must really get very worried about my future. ok what future i have? my studies are like shit.. michelle michelle...
sighsigh. but taking a diploma in health science is recognised globally and i can find any job that is related to that area anyway in the world. and 3 years in NYP, and if i am good.. i will do a year in either australia or united kingdom. if not.. i can get a job in rehabitation centres, hospitals or healthcare centres. and also, the worldd is kinda in short for these professionals...
although i really wan to get a degree from the local university, but i'll be wasting my time.. and if next time i wanna go into healthcare again.. i will so damn old with little opportunities.. i know NUS starting this year has a new course : NURSING. yep i like nursing too, but they take in very little pple, and those from NYP with a diploma in nursing stand a BIGGER chance.... going to poly after jc, seemed ridiculous, but the diploma in occupational, physio, radiation therapy requires a' levels... i'm talking to melody abt this.. and she said, those courses need alevels for a reason. so meaning.. it wont be a waste.. to go poly after jc.
i agreed la. but the thing is.. how to break the news to my parents? hai.. they will think.. why cant i follow the ''normal'' people taking the ''normal'' route? jc to nus/ntu/smu to work/masters degree... then why cant i be like my sis.. after nus then go take any degree from overseas uni.
arhh!! but kinda worried.. what IF i dun do well in NYP too.. then i will be a total waste.. to the society.. and if that time i wanna go uni.. it will be too late.
i m a dilema. but the main thing is.. either go to NYP or UNI... both NEED good grades for A LEVELS. no choice. i have to do it..
