finally... there is news that i'm interested in....
RETURN TO FLIGHT -- SPACE SHUTTER DISCOVERY
All systems go for historic shuttle launch
No sign of fuel-gauge glitch; picture-perfect weather for liftoff
this yet another space shutter launch reminded me of Columbia tragedy in 2003.... sigh it is heartbreaking...what might have casued the freak accident maybe just a piece of foam insulation flying off the external fuel tank shortly after launch, and this caused a significant damage to the shutter. The breakup of the shuttle during its re-entry killed all seven astronauts aboard and led to the grounding of the rest of the shuttle fleet.
anyway... i'm watching the live telecast of the launch. it is WOW!!!!!!!! shown on channel 14 cnn... really awesome man...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8706454/
quite a good site. there is photos and live video...
this exploration will be a success... alot of improvements have been made, and also they installed more than a hundred cameras!!! the lauch requires such a huge amount of liquid hydrogen and oxygen like 2 million litres?.. which costs like millions billions, a large large amt of energy is needed to overcome the gravitational pull? and propel towards the space... and the speed of the shutter is really fast, it took less than 9 minutes for it to reach orbit? wah. it will be a 12-day mission to resupply the international space station and test safety procedures that were developed in the wake of the shuttle Columbia's catastrophic breakup in February 2003.
i think it is really magnificant.. i love love space explorations... but they are not within my reach, so i should just stop dreaming.. and get back to my books...
i wish safety and success to all 7 astronauts.... the commander is a woman lehh!! pro pro man...
