ok time now is 1230am. ought to be in bed, but just got the urge to blog blog blog.
just read my dear junior rachel blog, after the conversation with her on msn, and after prelude 26, i really miss band. to be exact, miss tj band.
rachel asked, if i can still remember everything that got to do with tj band after 20 years down the road. i told her a definite yes. i am very sure i will remember it. those scenes and feelings are still very vivid in my mind.
i cant forget... how can i forget my dearest partner vivian???? it is impossible. life in tj band, i guarantee, will be dull-est without her presence. we just cant stop bitching during band prac, be it sectionals or even combine. it is just us, but the moment lin sheng raised his baton, we are focused.
i think the best moments in tj band, anyone will agree with me, are those days before syf and on the syf day itself. unforgettable experience. the best times were, when i was sitting beside vivian and rachel. stress level was a hell high, who cares? that time, everyone was "one heart, one sound".
band is my life. tkgssb made me understand what is section bonding, what batchmates were for, what tuning was for [FLUTES!! LISTEN!!!!!!], what physical trainings (PT) were for, what pyramid sound was for, what holdin-for-4-bars-at-least meant, why discipline is so impt, why greeting of ms sia mr ong m'dms are so impt, what is tkgssb power : we can do it!, what are mon-2.30pm to 6pm, wed-230pm to 6pm, and sat -830am to 5pm practices were for... and what is breathe together, come in together and tunning dont have ta-da sound...
tj band made me understand, why variations are impt for music, intonation among sections, the 5 fingers magic, the balance....
so much so much.
music is indeed a universal language which bridges different cultures together.
i hope, maybe one fine day, tkgssb will have an alumni. i really dont mind doning on our ten piece suit, even though i hate the shower cap alot! this ten piece suit... wearing it is not easy. pressure, seniors' glory and honour are all on yr shoulders once u wear it. once u don on it, u have to shoulder the responsibilities for being a well respected senior, passing on every knowledge u know to yr juniors and making nothing but the best music, presenting it to the audience.
and i know how wei feng i was, when i was wearing the tj blazer.
"We'll give our best... in all we do. Steadfast and valience to duty true."
sorry i dunno how to spell...
